Maca Triclopyr 750EC Herbicide is for the control of various woody and broadleaf weeds in agricultural, non-crop areas, forest, industrial or commercial areas, pasture and rights of way.  Maca Triclopyr 750EC Herbicide supersedes MACA 600 Herbicide (25% more active ingredient)

Air Blast Spraying (Mistblower)

    Maca Triclopyr 750EC Herbicide is registered with the APVMA to control Lantana (Lantana Camara) in Agricultural Non-Crop Areas, Forest, Industrial Land Or Areas, Pasture & Rights Of Way.  The directions for use label for Maca Triclopyr 750EC Herbicide does not have Lantana listed yet, as it was not included by the manufacturer when it was registered.  It is currently being added by the manufacturer to be approved by the APVMA and added to the label as an amendment.  The original Maca Triclopyr 600EC Herbicide label has Lantana control listed on the directions for use label with an application rate.

Tips For Use

Restraints:

  • Do not spray blackberry suffering from drought stress.
  • Do not burn off, cut or clear blackberry for at least six months after spraying.
  • In Tasmania, for blackberry, do not treat bushes carrying mature fruit or near mature fruit.
  • Do not apply using equipment carried on the back of the user.
  • Do not apply using handheld application methods.

General instructions for application:

  • Do not apply using equipment carried on the back of the user.

  • Mist blower: Eucalyptus, Blackberry, Brigalow only.
  • Aircraft: Blackberry only.
  • Controlled Droplet Application (CDA): Blackberry only.
  • Boomsprayer: Paddy melon, Afghan, Bitter or Camel Melon only.

Mixing:

  • Only mix a sufficient amount of chemicals for each day’s work.
  • Re-mix after extended periods of settling.
  • PVC gloves are not recommended for Conquest Maca 750 EC Herbicide.
  • Therefore, workers should wear nitrile gloves when the tank-mixing with products that need to be handled with PVC gloves.

High Volume Spraying:

  • This product mixes readily with water.
  • Pour the measured quantity into the partially filled spray tank and add the remainder of the water.
  • Agitate thoroughly during filling, while spraying and before recommencing spraying after a stoppage.

For NSW only: 

  • Except for regrowth less than five years old and under 3 metres tall, clearing more than 5 hectares of trees by aerial, ground or spotgun application in NSW is prohibited unless specifically authorised by a permit.
  • This restriction does not apply to woody weeds.

High Volume Spraying – continue

  • Minimise spray drift from high volume application by using low pressure and nozzles, which
    do not give a fine droplet size.
  • Delay treatment until all regrowth has had time to emerge on bulldozed or ploughed areas.
  • After using, clean equipment thoroughly and rinse several times before re-use.
  • Discharge washings on non-crop, non-pasture lands away from water supply and homes.
  • Keep the container tightly closed.
  • Equipment that has been used for the application of this chemical shouldn’t be used for the application of other materials to sensitive plants.

Aerial Application:

  • Human flagging is not authorised unless protected by engineering controls such as vehicles with cabs.

Precautions: Re-Entry Period

  • Do not enter treated areas until the spray has dried unless wearing cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical-resistant gloves.

Protection Of Crops, Native And Other Non-Target Plants:

  • Conquest Maca 750 EC Herbicide damages vines, vegetables, cotton, tomatoes, ornamentals and many other plants during both growing and dormant periods.
  • Grasses are normally unaffected and establish quickly after treatment.
  • Do not allow spray to drift onto susceptible crops, such as cotton, tomatoes, vines, fruit, potatoes, vegetables, ornamentals, tobacco, lupins, other legumes, safflower, flowers, shade trees and Pinus spp.
  • Do not apply under weather conditions or from spraying equipment that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants, crops, cropping lands or pastures.

Protection Of Livestock, Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans And Environment:

  • Do not contaminate streams, rivers, waterways, or water used for irrigation, drinking or other domestic purposes with the chemical or used container.

Storage:

  • Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
  • Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.

Safety Directions:

  • Harmful if swallowed.
  • May irritate the nose and throat.
  • It will irritate the eyes and skin.
  • Repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
  • If applying by boom spray equipment:
    • When opening the container, preparing the product for use, and using the product, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing), elbow-length chemical-resistant gloves and a face shield or goggles.
  • If applying by aerial spraying and airblast equipment:
    • When opening the container and preparing the product for use, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing), elbow-length chemical-resistant gloves, a face shield or goggles and a half facepiece respirator.
  • When applying the product by air blast equipment:
    • Wear cotton overalls over normal clothing buttoned to the neck and wrist, a washable hat, elbow-length chemical-resistant gloves and a half facepiece respirator.
  • If the product is in the eyes, wash it out immediately with water.
  • Wash hands after use.
  • After each day’s use, wash gloves, goggles, respirator and if rubber wash with detergent and warm water, and contaminated clothing.
